OTN Innovations

OTN Innovations has approached me to design an accessory for their click prosthesis system. Click prostheses have major advantages over traditional socket prostheses, but the drawback is that the connector attached to the bone is inconvenient while the prosthesis is not in use. It is hard and sharp, and does not provide good grip.

That is why I designed a cap to cover the connector. It provides good grip when showering, but does not grip onto and twist the sheets while sleeping. Although the design in fairly straight forward, all small details had to be thought out in which user feedback plays a major role. Mainly small scale production, materials and hygiene had to be taken into consideration.
